The EHCP Process

Education Health Care plans ( EHCPs) are a legal document that describes a child or young person's special educational, health and social care needs, explains the extra help that will be given to meet those needs and how that help will support the child or young person to achieve what they want to during their time at school.

To have a place at New Siblands all children will need to have an EHCP in place.

EHCP's are reviewed every year. Please see below flow chart of the review process.

How to request an early EHCP review

Parents can ask for an early statutory review if:

The child or young person’s education, health or social care needs have changed and are no longer accurately described in the EHC plan; or

The education, health or social care provision in the EHC plan is no longer meeting the child or young person’s needs.

Please see diagram below showing the process of requesting an early EHCP review.
