Term 4

We are looking forward to moving into Spring with Diamond Class and enjoying the longer and hopefully warmer days.

Curriculum overview

This term our topic is 'London'.

We will have a history, geography and art focus exploring where London is and some of the famnous landmarks. We will also learn about The Great Fire of London and what it was like to be alive in 1666. During art we will explore cityscapes and the work of Stephen Wiltshire, who draws them accurately from memory. We will also be looking at fire in art and using a range of material to create art masterpieces.

Our books for this term are 'The Clockwork Sparrow' by Katherine Woodfine and 'Katie in London' by James Mayhew.

Our topics for maths will be money and fractions.

In PHSE, we will be looking at the Jigsaw topic 'Healthy Me'. We will also enjoy celebrating St. David's Day, St. Patrick's Day and Easter.

Once a week in Diamond class we practice life skills using the Talentino programme on a Thursday.  This will help us develop our life skills, such as cleaning, making beds, gardening, office jobs etc.
