Term 4

We are looking forward to moving into Spring with Diamond Class and enjoying the longer and hopefully warmer days.

Curriculum overview

Our topic is 'Bristol'.

We will have a  History and geography focus exploring where Bristol is and some things that Bristol is famous for. During art we will explore Banksy, a Bristolian, and imitate the works of other famous artists. We are also hoping to have a visit from The George Muller Foundation to find out about the famous Muller orphanages and what life was like for children there. We will of course being exploring the designs of Issambard Kingdom Brunel and the impact he had on our city.

Our books for this term are 'Six Dinner Sid' by Inga Moore and 'Varjak Paw' by SF Said.

Our topics for maths will be multiplication and time.

In PHSE, we will be looking at the Jigsaw topic 'Healthy Me'. We will also enjoy celebrating the pancake day, St. David's Day, St. Patrick's Day and Easter.

Once a week in Diamond class we practice life skills using the Talentino programme with Janet on a Wednesday. She will help us develop our life skills, such as cleaning, making beds, gardening, office jobs etc

Each Thursday, we will split into two groups. One group will cook with Liz and the other will do some speaking and listening skills with Angela. Some students will be using the Talkabout scheme of work to develop their social communication skills.
