Term 4

A huge welcome back to all Diamond learners after another lock down. We have missed being together face to face. This term we are excited to be learning about the rainforest, introducing our life skills work and finishing our AQA units on cooking.

Curriculum overview

This term our topic is 'Rainforests'. We will continue learning about a different rainforest topic every week. Our class books are 'We're Roaming in the Rainforest' by Laurie Krebs and Anne Wilson & 'The Great Kapok Tree' by Lynne Cherry.

In PHSE, we will be having a focus on personal hygiene and why we need to be aware of it. We will be teaching the students personal grooming skills, such as cutting their nails, hair washing, using deodorant etc. Below is a video we watched to remind us how to clean our teeth.

We will continue to work towards our AQA pre-entry cooking award. This will involve cooking on a Thursday morning. We will let you know via the diary what students will be cooking and if they need to contribute to cooking ingredients.
