Term 4
This term we are learning all about the weather, seasons and the different clothes we need to wear to keep ourselves safe!
Clothes are a really important part of our day, as they keep us warm or cool, protected from the sun or the cold, and can act as an object of reference for an event that’s about to happen, like swimming.
Term 4 overview:
English
This term our book is ‘Elmer’s Weather’. We will explore all the different types of weather that Elmer likes in our sensory story, and what we might wear in each one. Which is your favourite weather?
Maths
It might be getting warmer outside, but in the classroom there are rain clouds about! We will be exploring different ways we can count and play in the rain, and building anticipation through songs and repeated patterns in rhymes. Be prepared, it’s likely to get soggy!
Out and about
As the weather (hopefully!) gets better outside, we will be able to take our learning about the weather and appropriate clothing out and about into our local community. We will explore different parks, the cafes and the library, all whilst taking our clothing into consideration. There’s no such thing as bad weather, as they say!
Enrichment
There are a few different events happening this term, so look out for reminders via email, text and diaries.
- World Book Day
- Comic Relief
- Easter
We will also be continuing with weekly hydro therapy sessions, communication activities and some pet therapy along the way, too!
Please remember you can log on to Evidence for Learning to find updates and photos of your child’s learning.
If you have any trouble with this, let Alice or the school office know.
