Term 3

We look forward to welcoming Diamond Class back to school in 2024!

Curriculum overview

Our topic is 'Snow & Ice'.

This will be a cross-curricular topic that involves a little bit of science, art, history and geography focus. We will look at the Arctic Circle and the people who live there. We will also look at how life there is different to ours and discover famous explorers who dared brave it's climate. In art, we will be looking at Inuit art and making our own impressions of the Aurora Borealis.

Our books for this term are 'The Rainbow Bear' by Michael Morpurgo and 'Ice Trap!' by Meredith Hooper & MP Robertson. Some of our students will be writing non-chronological reports and some will be writing postcards.

In PSHE, we will be looking at the Jigsaw topic 'Dreams & Goals'. We will also enjoy celebrating the New Year and Chinese New Year as a class.

Once a week in Diamond class we practice the life skill of cooking with Janet on a Wednesday. Angela works with us on other life skills on a Thursday where we develop our skills, such as cleaning, making beds, gardening, office jobs etc.
