Duke of Edinburgh Award

 

 

 

 

We are very proud to incorporate the Duke of Edinburgh Award into our curriculum as it allows the students to work towards a prestigious award as part of their ongoing learning.

Everyone involved gets a feeling of great pride to see the students achieve something that not everyone can and the students involved develop some great skills and memories!

The award is split into 4 categories:

  • Volunteering
  • Skills
  • Physical
  • Expedition

Each of which students are able to work through during their time in Post 16. They also have the opportunity to make the award more personal by bringing in their outside interests and activities.

We have worked hard to ensure that the award is accessible to ALL students irrespective of need and represents a great challenge for each of them individually.

Students can also choose to not take in the expedition, but they can still benefit from the award scheme and earn sectional awards when they complete each of the other three sections.
