Parental Engagement Survey in conjunction with the University of the West of England

In January 2017 all parents and carers of pupils at New Siblands School were emailed with a link to an online survey developed by Dr. Sara Spear at UWE.  The survey asked about the relationship between home and school and how parents and carers feel about their level of engagement with school.  A group of school staff were also interviewed in a focus group and some parents and carers volunteered to be interviewed at length by Dr. Spear to provide a greater level of detail.   The result report compiled by Dr. Spear collating all of this input is available below:

In line with our vision of being a sustainably improving school, our Leadership Team is working on a plan to both celebrate good practice and further enhance our practice based on the findings of the survey and will update here further in due course


The Sensory Support Service

The Sensory support service aims to promote the achievement, inclusion, well-being and quality of life of children and young people with a sensory impairment.

 We are a well-established service with an improvement culture. Most of our work is directed to individual children with sensory impairment, their families and educational settings but we also provide training opportunities to wider groups in raising awareness of sensory impairment, creating inclusive environments and supporting teachers to provide personalised learning. Training and packages of support are also available for post 16 providers.
