Term 2

Curriculum Overview.

Welcome back to Term 2!

Always a busy and exciting one as we celebrate Halloween, Bonfire Night, Children in Need and head towards Christmas!

This term's topic is Superheroes.

Our English books during Term 2 are "Traction Man" and "The Princess in Black". In English, we will be working in mixed groups with students from Diamond Class. This helps us to be more ambitious and appropriate in our learning.

In Maths, we will be focussing our learning on addition and time. Again, we will be working in groups with students from Diamond Class.

In Jigsaw, our PHSE lesson, we will be celebrating differences and learning about what makes us all so unique. In P.E. on a Thursday afternoon we will be exploring different styles of dance.

Every Wednesday we will work on the students' personalised learning goals. This allows us to achieve our individual targets to maximise our learning in a way that benefits us the most. We work on English, Maths and self-care and independence targets.

Life skills are a really important part of our week. In Term 2, our road safety walks, cooking, mindfulness and e-safety lessons help prepare the students for the real world and its challenges.
