Term 6

We are looking forward to welcoming Ruby class back to the last term of the school year!!

We are looking forward to enjoying the sunshine and preparing for transitions in September.

Curriculum overview

Our topic this term is 'Plants - Let's Grow!'

Our topic will mostly have a science theme, where we explore, identify and compare plants. During our topic, we will also be growing our own sunflowers, hanging baskets and bedding plants.  We will also use class walks to compare plants and identify trees. Let's hope the weather is on our side!

Our books for the term are 'War and Peas' by Michael Foreman & 'Sam's Sandwich' by David Pelham. As part of our learning, we will once again be exploring the non-fiction genre of instructions.

Our topics for maths will be place value and money.

In PSHE, we will be looking at the Jigsaw topic 'Changing Me', which will focus on lifecycles, how our bodies change and other changes we will be facing as we approach the end of another academic year.

During P.E on Thursdays with Nat, we will be developing our ball skills by throwing, kicking and playing tennis. We will also be planning some outdoor learning sessions to make the most of the Summer weather!

We are planning an end of term treat for Ruby class, we will let you know more details towards the end of term!
