Welcome To New Siblands

Our vision is at the heart of what we believe, what we do and the direction we are heading in. It is expressed in our vision and values statement, aims and goals:

Achievement, belonging and celebration: valuing every child through fostering independence, inclusion, trust, respect and support

The Aims of the school are:

• To help pupils develop holistic skills for life – practical, emotional, academic, moral and spiritual • To inspire every pupil to love learning • To celebrate individuality and diversity and break down barriers towards disability within the wider community • To ensure every individual realises their potential • To develop independence in all our pupils • To develop a true sense of belonging to a wider community • To prepare pupils for each different stage of their life • To develop self esteem • To ensure meaningful inclusion is a reality

In order to achieve these aims the school is committed to:

• Providing a broad, balanced, relevant and flexible curriculum • Learning beyond the school walls including the wider community • Working in partnership with parents, carers and professionals to secure the best support for each pupil • Celebrating the successes of every child

The goals of the school are for every pupil to:

• Show measurable increase in both academic achievements and independence skills • Demonstrate respect for others • Actively learn within the wider community • Make choices as part of their personalised learning • Gain personalised and relevant accreditation • Know how to stay safe and make good choices • Demonstrate progress in independence and communication • Know their next steps for learning

This vision, summarised in the 3 key words beginning ABC – Achievement, Belonging, Celebration – seeks to ensure our pupils receive the challenge, care and support needed to achieve their potential. New Siblands is a school that seeks to challenge mind sets and help our pupils to have a true sense of belonging in their school and wider community whilst celebrating success every step of the way.
