OUR CLASSROOM

We are fortunate to have a large and bright classroom with enough space to facilitate students who need sensory input as well as areas of calm and quiet.

OUR LEARNING

We are very fortunate to have a number of exciting additions to our curriculum this academic year. For more information about what we are covering this term please scroll down the page and follow the links.

DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD

Students in Diamond will begin to work towards their Bronze Level Duke of Edinburgh Award. The award is split into four sections…

Volunteering

Physical

Skill

Expedition

Students will be able to access all elements of the award and will have the opportunity to personalise it with various options, but by also bringing in activities that they carry out at home. As well as working towards their Bronze award students will also be able to achieve sectional awards on completing each of the sections.

We are in desperate need of finding a business willing to sponsor our Duke of Edinburgh Award. If you know of any business that might be interested please get in touch.

OPEN ORCHESTRA

Beginning in October students will begin working with Jonathan from Open Orchestra. This will be an exciting opportunity for students to experience and play different music both individually and together.

For more information about the Open Orchestra please visit https://www.openorchestras.org/

RAINBOW TIME

Rainbow Time is an opportunity for students from all classes to come together to work with different people, to develop new and different friendships and to develop a range of different skills. Plans for Rainbow Time in this academic year are yet to be finalised. More information will be added in the near future.

TIMETABLE

While we can not guarantee to follow this timetable to the letter every term I hope it will give you a flavour of what happens in Diamond Class on a daily basis.

Please follow the links to our learning pages for each term.
